Rising Country Star, Braxton Keith, coming to MAD

Rising country music vocalist Braxton Keith is set to play the First Financial Music Hall at the Murphy Arts District on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025.
RFD-TV says, Keith is part of a new generation of country singer-songwriters “lighting up the country music world” and leading a revival of its core creative tenants. A proud Texas native who these days splits time between San Antonio and Nashville, Keith was born in Midland, Texas, steeped in country mystique.
Featuring an earnest love of the ‘80s country aesthetic – and all but addicted to the rush of the stage – Keith has spent the last few years of life as a proud road dog, schooling new fans of the timeless power of a revved up band and rich organic twang. Blending throwback-tonk with a sharp, barbed-wire vocal recalling stars like Tracy Lawrence (plus a little borderland buzz of San Antonio Spanish influence), Keith became a regular face in venues all across his home state.
More new music is planned for a 2025 release, as Keith continues fine-tuning his natural songwriting style – timeless tunes of love, loss and life steeped in the energy and attitude of a Texan dancehall, but made for a wider audience. The contours of his uniquely country sound and style merge past and present with the timeless edge of a band-leading troubadour.
Doors open at 7:00pm with the concert starting at 8:00pm. Tickets go on sale to MAD Members on Wednesday, March 19th at 10am, CDT, and to the public on Friday, March 21st at 10am, CDT. Tickets can be purchased at eldomad.com and at the MAD box office at 101 East Locust Street. Ticket prices range from $32 (general admission) and $115 (reserved table seats) plus additional fees.

Trump Order Deems Smackover Lithium As Critical Project

LEWISVILLE – A lithium project in Southwest Arkansas is getting national attention as part of a major push to boost American-made energy resources.
Smackover Lithium, a partnership between Standard Lithium and energy company Equinor, has been chosen as one of the first major projects supported by a new executive order from President Donald Trump. The order, announced in March, aims to speed up the production of important minerals that the U.S. needs for energy and manufacturing—especially those that usually come from countries like China.
The Southwest Arkansas (SWA) Project is the only one using a new technology called Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) to make the list. It’s also one of just three lithium projects nationwide selected for fast-track review.
That means government agencies will work together to speed up permits and approvals, making the process more transparent and predictable. The project has also earned support from the Department of Energy, which sees it as a key part of America’s energy future.
“We are honored by this recognition,” said David Park, CEO of Standard Lithium. “This project can help power America’s energy needs, create good jobs in Arkansas, and reduce our dependence on foreign minerals.”
The lithium produced by the SWA Project could be used in batteries for electric vehicles and other advanced energy technologies. Smackover Lithium says they’re committed to protecting the environment, working with the local community, and moving forward responsibly.
