Parker Hammett, Addis LA
He was a 2014 graduate of Junction City High School. Parker was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, cooking and traveling. He also enjoyed growing green plants and gardening. He was named to All-State and was the MVP of the State Championship game of 2014. His favorite recipe was salsa and loved cooking and eating it. Parker was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Preston and Clair Jo Hammett; and maternal grandparents, Danny Dowdy and Elaine Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Joe Paul and Connie Hammett of Junction City; brother, Jordan Hammett (Allie) and their children, Braylie, Kenzlie, and Dawson of Junction City; sister, Kalan Moss (Brenton) and their daughter, Magnolia of Addis, LA; special aunt, Nancy “NaNa” Dodson of Junction City; his dog, Fargo, his cat, Bender; and his lizard, Lola.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025 at Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Mary Helen Mayweather, El Dorado
Mary Helen Mayweather was the beloved daughter of O.L. Brown and Lillie Mae Brown. She was born on September 3, 1959, in El Dorado, Arkansas. Her mother, by example, taught her Christian values and integrity. At a young age, Mary united with Little Bethel Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, under the leadership of Rev. Leon Miller. Later in life, she united with St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, under the leadership of the late Bishop George Calloway. In 2009, she united with The Word Family Church in Camden, Arkansas, under the leadership of Bishop Jacovis Davis and Pastor Iretha Davis, where she faithfully served as a praise team leader and member until her passing.
She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1978. After graduation, Mary began her career in the workforce, where she served as a training aide and cook at South Arkansas Development Center for more than 20 years. Mary was the type of woman who would give the shirt off her back. She loved cooking delicious meals and baking her famous cakes. She had the most welcoming smile that would light up a room whenever she entered. She was loving, caring, and full of wisdom. She cherished and adored her grandsons. One of the things she loved to do was randomly sing songs wherever she was at the time.
On April 25, 2026, she was called home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, O.L. Brown; grandparents, Booker and Irene Harper; three sisters, Lille Louise Green, Lula Mae Brown, and Vera Frazier; one brother, O.L. Brown; her daughter, Lashonna Louis; her nephew, Tremayne Brown; and one great-nephew, Comesico Pumphrey.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Lillie Mae Brown of El Dorado, Arkansas; daughters, Cashonna Moore (Larry) of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Tiffany Ross (Jerod) of Smackover, Arkansas; Kenneth Mayweather, with whom she shared three daughters and many years of family history; grandchildren, Jordan Jones of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Larry Moore III of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Winston, Langston, and Kingston Ross of Smackover, Arkansas; sisters, Cynthia Pumphrey, Virtie Mayweather (John), Angela Williams (Sankeno), LaVonya Brown, and Nakeysha Brown, all of El Dorado, Arkansas; brothers, Henry Brown (Kristy) and James Brown, both of Minnesota, Willie Brown of Hot Springs, Arkansas; special brother, Andre Harper of El Dorado, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
Services will be Saturday May 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at the Word Family Church in Camden, Arkansas.

Everett Swift, Smackover
Everett Lee Swift, 65, passed away April 15th, 2026 at South Arkansas Regional Hospital. He was born June 21, 1960 to Jewel and Rose Everett Smith. He was employed by Diversified and was a member of Lisbon Church. Everett loved driving his tractor, going to the beach every 4th of July and taking Tammy shopping at Canton. Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Jewell Pearl Swift, Charles Swift; and sister, Barbara Rogers. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Tammy Swift of Smackover; two sons, Jerad and Lauren Swift of Alexander, AR, Jeremy Swift of Fayetteville, AR; three grandchildren, Pyper, Stella Kate, Jett Swift; siblings, Katherine and Jess Dean, Donnie and Elmyra Swift, Nancy and Mike Swartz; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Young’s. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Lisbon Church with Rev. Byron Winn officiating. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

William Giacona, El Dorado
William Rafael Giacona, 64, of El Dorado, Ark., passed away on April 18, 2026 with his loving family by his side, after a long battle with stomach cancer. He was born March 29, 1962 the only son of Louis and Judith Giacona. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Bill and Ann Carson. In 1985, he married Kimberly Ann Blann and to this Union one son was born, Zachary.
He attended Holy Redeemer elementary school, graduated from El Dorado High School in 1980. Attended LSU college. His grandfather taught him to fly an airplane at a young age, receiving his airplane and helicopter license. He soloed on his 16th birthday. Later in his career he built an airplane. He was known by his friends as “Gig”. His career began as a KATV reporter/photographer. Followed by Computer Graphic artist working for Delta Press, later purchasing M&M Package convenient store. Finishing out his career with employment with Johnson Employer Support, and later as Court Appointed Process Server and Safety Firearms Range Officer.
A celebration of life will be held at later date at Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado. In lieu of Flowers, please consider donating to Hope Landing in El Dorado, Ark.

Carolyn Jones Parks, El Dorado
Carolyn Jones Parks, 88, of El Dorado, passed away April 20, 2026, after a 3-year battle with breast cancer. Carolyn was born on September 10, 1937, in El Dorado to Coy Albert Jones and Alma Honea Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George E. Parks, her parents, a sister, Joy Jones Daymon and a brother, Jerald V. (Jerry) Jones. She is survived by her four children, Pete Parks (Renee), Janet Nesbit, Melanie Parks, and Rhonda Bailey (Tom Tom), eleven grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews that she loved, along with her two cats, Buffy and Mono.
Carolyn was a devoted daughter, wife and mother who always thought about everyone else instead of herself. She was a talented piano player who just completed her 72nd year as the pianist for Dumas Methodist/Christ Church. She was a long-time member of the Lisbon Home Extension Club where she enjoyed working on the Club’s projects and spending time with the ladies. She was a loyal partner with George who often called her Frosty for the silver in her jet black hair. Together they ran Parks Country Store for 50 years, where she met many people who became good friends and who she considered family. Upon retiring in 2019 she said the thing she missed the most was seeing the people she had come to know and see so often. Carolyn and George loved to travel out west in the fall each year to see the natural wonders of the Western United States. They usually wound up in Las Vegas for a few days after seeing the sites in other western states.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Dumas Methodist Church, 132 South Wyatt Drive in El Dorado followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery located on Hwy 172 at Morning Star Road under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.

Ronald G. Gill, 58, of El Dorado, AR passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the South Arkansas Regional Hospital in El Dorado.
Ronald was born January 2, 1968, in Monroe, LA to Ronald G. Gill and Victoria Swanson Gill.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Ronald was a former employee of Diversified Services in El Dorado.
Survivors include his four sons, Brad Landers and wife Brianna, Colby Gill, Corey Gill, Caleb Gill, his father, Ronald G. Gill, Sr. and wife Rosemary, his sister, Kim McCloy and husband Mike, three grandchildren, Jacee Gill, Casen Gill, Aubrey Landers, his former wife and mother of his children, Debbie Fulco.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
